Emmanuel K. Ackom is a research fellow at the University of British Columbia, Canada. His research area is in environmental life cycle analysis and renewable energy technologies. From 2002-2005, he was a faculty member at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Germany where he taught Industrial Ecology. He was a consultant for the European Union ECOLIFE II Project from 2003-2005. He is a council member for the Lermann Gerson Group of Energy Advisors (USA), member of the World Council for Renewable Energy, member of the International Association for Energy Economics, a certified trainer of the “RETScreen” Clean Energy Project Analysis Software, member of the “SIMAPRO” Life Cycle Assessment software user group. Dr. Ackom received his B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from the University of Ghana and his M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering from the Brandenburg University of Technology, Germany.
