Climate Assessment for the Southwest project
Joe is a Staff Scientist with the Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) at the University of Arizona. At CLIMAS, Joe is responsible for developing a new web-based social network and website for climate scientists and stakeholders to support policy to mitigate the risks of climate change.
Joe earned a PhD (geography) at the University of Arizona (2006) and has expertise in climate impact and vulnerability assessment, and technical assistance with state drought planning processes.
Joe also has experience with applying geospatial technologies (GIS, geovisualization, remote sensing) to support environmental policy decision-making. Prior to CLIMAS Joe worked for Kleinfelder, a full-service consulting firm. Prior to Kleinfelder, Joe developed a geospatial strategy for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 (CA, HI, AZ, NV) Air Division. Joe is currently a PI on the Arizona Hydrological Information System for the Arizona Water Institute.
